Recently while having lunch with my friends we were discussing many challenging issues that we are faced with, we began to talk about how there seems to be a lack of courtesy among people today. We can all agree these last two years have brought many diffcult situations in everyone lives and noone was exempt from the effects of the corona virus.
As the country and cities opened up again from the shelter in order, and citizens began navigating back into malls, movies, stores or just commuting, then we are hit with inflations on gas, food..etc nonetheless what seems to have been forgotten in the midst of it all is common courtesy.
People seem shocked when you smile or say hello, Why? because we have become so consumed with what we need or have to do, we have forgotten this one thing: We are all in this together! We each are bearing uncomfortable things and trying to figure this new norm out, so remind yourself when you are dealing with that waiter/waitress, the cashier, customer service rep or just in traffic that their lives also has been changed. The solution begans with the man in the mirror, if we all purposely choose to be courteous, I believe that courtesy will rise in our communities again, and we will feel the effects of it. NOW! let's all stop take a breath when faced with diffcult things, this self help tactic of just breathing will relieve stress in ourselves and the conclusion of the matter will end better.
1Peter 3:8 in the Bible reads as such: Finally all of you be of one mind having compassion for one another, love as brothers be tenderhearted be courteous. I think this is a good start.
Let's be empowered with good things, taking time out for self help things like a walk in the park, exercise, relax with a great book, family time, listening to good music, podcasts that are informative, or just relax, this helps us to be healthy spirit, soul and body which is called complete.
